Emptying the freezer

When the sun comes out we do like to make the most of it dont we? We are never too sure of how long it will last or when it will return if it breaks, so it's on with the shorts and out with the BBQ. We had an 'empty the freezer' BBQ yesterday. We are having some work done at home and need to sift things and emptying the freezer was on the list....so we BBQ'd with a mish mash of meat and sausage, it's amazing how many people you can feed with 2 beef steaks, 2 pork chops, 6 lamb meat balls and some 'donated' burgers. Its all thanks to kebab sticks and some carefully positioned veg! And what better way to use up the cabbage thats been rolling round the fridge....coleslaw of course.

    Hi Shirley, Speaking of eeking out a few bits and pieces..... I bought a pound of pork mince the other day and decided to make some pork pies. I chopped 2 slices of bacon and added 4 shallots ( home grown).I made 12 pork pies same size as whist pies and with what was left I added some breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning and got 20, yes 20 meatbatballs . Ate 10 between us for tea and froze the others. Why do people buy pre made stuff. It's so much cheaper and betterfor you to make your own. Good luck with your business venture. I'm sure it'll be a big success,
